won't connect

Just bought my wife a new computer (used). I put it into my other room and cannot seem to find my internet set up. It is called "get lost". My computer in the computer room works good. But it does not work in the other room.

I had hooked up the up plug for it. But it still does not even know that I have a connection.

Can anybody help
