Dynamic To Static ip not working

Hi, i just moved to a new house, i've connected the internet, i set up a new connection, and my ip was dynamic, so i tried changing it to static but windows fixed it by turning DHCP back on.
I'm on Windows 8 OS
I don't know what to do, any ideas?
