I've formatted my HP 530 Notebook (using 'Operating System CD - Windows XP Professional SP2'). All went well. It was my first format but I read a lot on the internet, so I knew I had to download and install the chipset, the bus driver, the audio and video drivers, the network adapters, etc. This I did, on the HP website [URL].
Everything is working perfectly except for the internet. The device (a Broadcom wireless network adapter I installed from the HP website) is not showing up as Wireless Network Connection or in the Network Adapter section. The HP Wireless assistant as well does not open.
I tried to uninstall the "Intel(R) PRO/100 VE Network Connection" driver and install the Broadcom driver, but then i cannot find anything under Network Adapter after installing the Broadcom driver.
I am looking for a desperate help as i uninstalled and reinstalled the Broadcom driver several times but cannot see the wireless connection icon at all. Kindly suggest if there is anything i am missing and appreciate for a quick help please.
