Hello
My other thread was shut down as I didn't explain myself properly.
The school I work for has no "in house" IT specialist (we are in a small town in Spain, things are different) and despite being trained only in psychology, as I don't run at the sight of computers, I am also the ICT teacher. For this reason the school has asked me to be the point man when talking to the company which covers our IT. The company has caused us many problems and is unreliable, so I came here to try and inform myself on a few things. I neglected this part in my last thread as I wanted to get straight to the point, but the thread was closed for fear of me interfering with the school network (valid point indeed, but not my intention nor within my capabilities). I apologize in advance if my question once again is deemed too risky and it needs to be closed. If so I'll quit the website forever and remember its members fondly for helping me get rid of the spyware which infected my computer 13 years ago when my teenage internet use was less educational and more anatomical.
So my question, if WIFI arrives with a decent speed to one area of a building, can it be relayed to other areas of the building? If so, is there a limit to this (number of relay points) and would it have to be done by cables or could it be done over a wireless network? Also, does it have any relation to the speed of the internet in the area?
I hope these questions are not too dangerous and repeat this is only to inform myself before speaking to a specialist. Please if this is closed again, can you at least tell me what to search in google, it is impossible to teach in 2014 without the internet!
