network adapter says its enabled and working properly but no wireless!!

Hi, having scoured your incredibly useful forum, I'm at a loss so....

I have a Dell Studio 1737 which until yesterday was fine. however today there is a red cross through the wireless signal and there are no wireless networks visible.

I know my hub is working fine as my other laptop and various phones/tablets etc all connect fine. When I click on the netwok adapter settings both the Dell wireless 1397 WLAN Mini-card and the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter are enabled and in properties both say that "This device is working properly"

Have tried pushing wireless button and fn F2...... (both seem to do nothing)...

Have run AVG antivirus scan, Malwarebytes scan and Ccleaner....

Have tried updating drivers for both adapters....successfully..

Have tried pinging various with no joy at all....nothing transmitting or recieving there...

Have tried resetting winsock...

Have tried safe mode and clean boot....

Have deleted Bonjour and most of the Dell Bloatware.......

Totally out of ideas now....PLEASE HELP!!!!
