I have a new hp laptop that I have been trying to connect to the internet with. I have taken it to a friend's house and successfully connect to his wireless internet without any problems. However, I do not have Wifi and have been attempting to connect my laptop to the internet via my ethernet cable connected to my modem. A broadband connection, Local Network 6 comes up, but I am unable to connect to it, and I am given an Error 651 message. I have tried resetting the modem, unplugging and plugging it back in, but it never works. I also called comcast and talked to someone who tried something over on his end and said it should work in a few minutes. We ended the call and waited a while before trying again. It still did not work. If anyone could help me it would be greatly appreciated!:up:
