My internet suddenly stopped working a few days ago!
The ethernet cable is directly connected to my laptop but since a few days ago, it would show as "cable unplugged", and after 15 to 20 minutes, "unidentified/limited" connectivity would appear. I have a static I.P. configuration, and the internet works fine on my friends' laptops with my configuration. My wifi also works fine.
There seems to be no problem with the driver as far as I can tell, and initially I thought that there might have been some problem with the socket on my laptop, but when I connect an old modem (possibly not working anymore or I don't know how to configure it) to my laptop just to check whether the socket is bad or not, it instantly shows "unidentified network" (without internet just to check the socket), so I guess there isn't any problem with the socket.
I am using Win 8.1 and some people have told me that Win 8.1 is rife with technical issues. I don't know...anyway, please help. :'( :( :'(
