DLNA Set up problems

Hi all,

I am a complete novice when it comes to networks but I am trying (struggling) to get my head around how to distribute my media around my home network. I have attached a picture to try and illustrate how everything is connected along with IP addresses etc. I have a DLNA server (Mediatomb - although I have tried Plex and Serviio) running on Ubuntu and is in DMZ. It is a web server and personal mail server (for the family) and is in DMZ because I couldn't be bothered with port forwarding.

My XBMC client (which is a Raspberry Pi) discovers the server through UPnP and streams all my media effortlessly to my TV. Anything connected wired or wirelessly to either wireless router doesn't auto discover the server and cannot stream anything. I can, however SSH to the server using it's IP address from any point in the network so I'm sure it can't be a routing issue.

Why doesn't my phone (Android using any client(ServiiGo, Plex or MediaHouse)) or my Windows 7 laptop connected wirelessly using XBMC windows client discover my server?

If my phone is connected using WiFi to Router A and my Windows 7 laptop is connected using WiFi to Router B and I perform a scan using MediaHouse on my phone, then it shows my laptop as a DLAN server (Windows Media Player I think) so there isn't an issue between the two wireless routers connected by Powerline.

The only devices which discover the server are ones connected directly to my cable modem.

The equipment within the blue box are co-located.

Any advise would be very much appreciated because I'm close to giving up!

Thanks in advance!

Marc
