Ok so a few days ago there was a pretty bad thunderstorm. My power went off for a fraction of a second - I was actually on my desktop at the time and the monitor shut off and everything but came back on and the computer was still running.
After that the desktop would not connect to the internet. The router booted back up and the laptops were fine, but the desktop was a no-go.
I have tried restarting/cycling everything to no avail. I have tried restarting the dhcp client. I have tried various commands within command prompt (ipconfig /renew) also to no avail. I do not have mcafee (sounds like their firewalls screw stuff up) I run avast and I tried disabling that and it didn't help.
I have noticed that a big issue that I can see is that the computer does not seem to be able to connect to the router. When I ipconfig on command prompt the default gateway is left blank. I tried pinging the router and it just times out.
Please help!!! I don't know what else to do :(
