Hello, I have been having issues with my Comcast internet with a SB6121 modem (replacing it did not solve issue), Belkin N150 router (hardwiring to computers did not fix issue). Comcast technicians came out twice and cannot figure it out and it's driving me insane:
ISSUE: The internet drops randomly, usually for a few minutes, and then comes back up. The modem lights do not change, nor do the routers, and the computers all register having internet. However, pinging a site or trying to access sites in browser time out. Not sure if this matters, but it tends to happen more often at night.
PECULIARITY(?): I don't have much experience here, but in running an
(both while internet is up and 'down' -- they are identical), I notice that the lease expire date is crazy. Usually in the year 2150, while the lease obtained seems to reset when it goes down.
Any ideas? I have replaced all cables, the modem as I said, eliminated the router to check if problem persists with comp hardwired, Comcast says signal looks very good. Also, modem stays online -- in it's logs, it says it has been up for X days (i.e .since I last rebooted it--it doesn't reset when the internet is 'down'). Thanks, really appreciate any help!
