Unknown reason for ping spikes

Hi

I am using a laptop with windows 7 and since I changed router, I get very strange ping spikes that affect my gaming.

When I ping google they normally return at around 10ms but one in every 10 or 20 returns a lot slower. (see attachment)

I don't know what might be causing this problem, can I get some help please!!

My router is a TG589vn v3 from a South African ISP Mweb.
