Internet works everywhere except my laptop

I have had this laptop about a month and ever since I installed skype, I can't get it to connect to the internet fully. Sometimes the connection is slow, but right now it's not connecting at all. I ran windows defender and nothing was found. Then I installed ad aware and nothing was found. I did an hp trouble shooting scan and it said the issue was the port and to reset the modem or call the provider. I did reset the modem but I know that's not the issue since every other computer in the house is able to go online just fine.

I am sure it is a simple solution but I need help with being told exacty what to do.

My computer is hp pavilion touch smart 14-b109wm sleekbook
