Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit retail (from PC World)
Sony Viao VPCF11S1E
WiFi Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN notebook wifi adapter
BT HomeHub v3 router configured using factory settings + config for PlusNet ADSL
My notebook keeps losing WiFi connection. This only started happening when I took delivery of this used Sony Vaio. We have three other notebooks in the house of different models, all which worked flawlessly for 2 years. All that has changed is the arrival of the Sony Viao.
So the Viao keeps requesting a lease from the Router...here is a log file extract...
When I connect the Viao using a cat5 cable to the router, all is well.
So I turned to the WiFi card. I removed the TCP/IP stack:
then I ran Windows Update to get the very latest essential, and recommended updates.
I removed the WiFi card from Device Manager and selected "remove driver software"
Then in Device Manager I scanned for new hardware and the WiFi card appeared albeit as an "Unknown Network Adapter" which was ok and as expected as I had just removed all driver S/W
Then I downloaded the correct drivers from Intel (using their own Java plugin to identify and update the driver. Now Device Manager recognises the device and reports the correct driver v15.9.2.2 dated 12th September 2013. Great so far
Then I create a connection to my Router (which has worked flawlessly for two years with three other notebooks).
Connection! Great. but then about every 5 minutes I loose the connection, a delay whilst DHCP lease is acquired, then a reconnect, then 5 minutes and a disconnect, and so on - repetitively.
Any ideas?
