I am having the weirdest problem with my internet connection. My windows 7 desktop says that it is fully connected to the Internet but for some reason only one program is able to access the Internet, which is Steam. To be precise, only the friends chatting function and 1 single game, chivalry medieval warfare (don't judge), can connect to a server. I just play the game fine but that is the only thing I can do on the Internet. The steam store cannot connect and neither can any other game other than chivalry. Also none of my other programs can access the Internet including antivirus updates and Skype. This problem began last night while playing a game, after I finished the game I could not connect through my browser. I have started my computer in safe mode and run anti virus scans with Webroot and Malwarebytes with no viruses detected. I tried shutting off all the firewalls but that did not fix the problem. I turned off all my antivirus software, turned off all the firewalls and allowed all packets through my router but nothing helped.
I think it is very strange that only one program is able to connect to a server on the internet but all of my other programs are blocked. I do not think it is my ISP because I am writing this message on my phone connected to the same router as the desktop. No one else in my house has complained of internet troubles. I am able to access the router wirelessly with the desktop, but so far only one application has had limited access to the Internet.
Any ideas what's wrong?
