Hi everyone, this is my first post.
I have my internet through Optimum. I have the cable coming into a Motorola SB5101 cable modem. It only has one ethernet plug. This I have plugged into a Cisco E1500 which is wireless. From this router, I have a cable going to my gateway and another cable going to my barn which is approx. 250 feet away. This I have plugged into a desktop. Everything works at this point. What I want to do is make my barn wireless yet keep my desktop hardwired. I tried running the cable directly to another wireless Cisco E1200 then from the Cisco I ran a line to my desktop but I can not get the Cisco E1200 to work or my desktop at this point. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I hope my problem is the Cisco E1200 is not set up correctly. By the way, my desktop can not run wirelessly.
Please help, I have been working on this for several days.
