I can't seem to get this to work.
I have a desktop running Windows XP Professional SP3, and a laptop running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have a shared drive on the XP machine which I'm trying to access via the laptop running windows 7. I can access this shared drive fine with my modded Xbox, so I don't think it's the network settings on the XP machine.
I have enabled file and printer sharing on both computers. Both computers are connected to the same workgroup. (WORKGROUP)
When I open "Network" on the 7 machine, I only see the XP machine listed as a Media Device, not a computer. When I open "Homegroup" on the 7 machine, it says "There are no other people in the homegroup."
What's the difference between a Homegroup and a Workgroup? I can't seem to find any options for Homegroup in Windows XP. How can I get around this?
