Updated to Windows 8.1, ethernet connection to router "unidentified network"

I get the "Ethernet 2" Doesn't have a valid IP configuration" message whenever I attempt troubleshoot the ethernet.

My set up...

Alienware Aurora R4 computer. I have a 1gb USB/ethernet converter with an ethernet system connected to an "AV200 Powerline Adapter with Wireless N300and passthrough sockets - triple kit" setup. When I was on Windows 8, I just plugged the powerline set up at their respective places, connected to the Virgin Media 100mb speed wireless/ethernet Hub and it worked perfectly with no complicated setup (took less than 10 minutes to do). I know a wi-fi adapter would be a short term fix but unfortunately Wi-fi is near impossible because of where my studio computer is based (my computer studio room is in a converted shed at the very back of my garden and geographically to far to get any reliable wi-fi signal... hence the need to purchase a mains powerline system).

I delayed updating Windows 8 until today. After this update I am now completely without internet. I can't understand what the problem is, I am unable to perform a system restore for some reason. It cannot be a router problem because my mobile phone works as does other devices in the house, just not the computer. I knew it worked perfectly before this update so it has to do with the update somehow. I am getting "unidentified network" and "limited" connection.

I have no idea if it's safe to post this information (hackers?) but I'm desperate so here is my network log. I obtained it from doing a few CMB commands and tcp/ip resets but I don't think they were successful.

Any help is greatly appreciated, my professional work is entirely dependent on a working internet connection so you will have my eternal gratitude. How can I get my computer to recognise and connect with the powerline/ethernet set up?

Thanks,
Jeremy
