xfinity only selects hotspot, not my wireless

I have a DELL Latitude D610. It's old, but recently wiped clean by my employer and given to me for temp use. I have a Comcast / Xfinity wireless connection in my place.

My TV, phone, and tablet recognize my wireless name and connection with no problem (I think they only required my password).

On the DELL, the wireless is working fine. I'm on it now. BUT, it will only connect to an Xfinity hotspot, which is much slower. It recognizes my named connection, attemps to aquire the address, shows a strong signal, but stops at the last nansecond and connects to the hotspot EVEN after I tried disabling and deleting that hotspot. It won't die!

I spent 2 hours with Comcast trying to walk through all of the steps to disable, re-order, recognize, reboot, etc. They can see my router and signal are fine.

It seems the computer will not connect to a network it recognizes, it's stuck connecting to that hotspot (unsecured). I would really like to get on my secured network.

It might be some sort of internal setting? I tried setting up a new network, but once you click through the wizzard, it doesn't seem to make that final step.

Any suggestions?
