Apple-PC marriage

I have a friend who has the following situation in his home. He has recently installed anew Apple widescreen all- in- one Apple desk topcomputer that connects with wifi to an Airport A1392 which is wire connected to aMotorola SB5101U modem that againconnects to the coax feed from COMCAST.NET.

The Apple that was replaced connected with wifi to an olderAirport unit (A1084) that connected to this same modem. His installation is located on the secondfloor . His wife has a Toshiba PC laptop model PSAE3U-06Y023 withWindows 7 that she uses on the first floor of their condo. With the old installation she was able towifi connect via the A1084 to Internet but cannot connect to the new A1392. I suspect that is due to the PC’s incompatibility with the new protocol since its specs state802.11b/g only.

I now wonder if there is a reasonable way to allow both 2 Airportsto be connected to the modem, possibly with suitable router/switch and in that way allowing the new Apple toconnect via the A1392 and the PC toconnect via the old A1084 that worked that way previously. I would like to hear from you learned membersof this forum what you think and cansuggest for hardware if my idea is evenpossible.
