Hello,
I just joined this company and part of my job (I am not an IT guy) is to detect and solve problems. Our offices are small and are located in a rural area that has broadband bandwidth issues and we have no alternatives. Anyway our 3.5mpbs broadband connection is shared by 7 different users which would be ok if they were limited strictly to business operations (email, google, whatever) problem is, some users don't get that streaming or using p2p (and illegal) programs affect overall bandwidth. Now I can't confront these individuals because for the time being I can't be seen as the bad guy so whatever I do to fix this issue has to be discreet. My dsl modem/router doesn't have an option to limit user bandwidth, we do not have an IT guy (our operation is very tiny), I'd prefer if any solution came from an open source program as money is a problem for the time being. Any suggestions? Is there a way to block p2p and streaming on the office network?
Thanks a bunch, I know it's quite a lot to ask.
