I have a very strange network problem that I can't seem to wrap my head around.
Basically I stay connected to the Internet but I don't. Lets say if I were on Skype in a call it would never, ever disconnect me from Skype but if I were to open my browser it would say I'm not connected to the Internet. Any program that uses Internet (DayZ, WoW, Skype etc) will always stay connected. It takes about 5-10 minutes for the Internet on my browser to start working again. This is completely random when it happens. It happens a few times a day. I run the Windows Firewall and Microsoft Security Essentials and have been since I built this computer (old but still running) this started happening about 2 months ago. I have contacted my ISP about it, they said it shouldn't be happening, when I asked for a new modem they said it wasn't necessary they would just do a hard reset on their end. Didn't fix. It frustrated me to the point where I did a complete format on my drive and installation of Windows. Same thing still happens. I don't find it happening on other devices such as my macbook or iPhone but I don't think I'm on the Internet on them long enough. Hoping someone can shed some light onto my situation, much appreciated. :o
