My laptop is running on windows 7 64 bit and my wireless adapter is intel Intel® Centrino® Wireless-N 130. The problem is it never connects to wifi, its recognizing the signal but the adapter is stuck on identifying/acquiring network. I noticed the problem about a month ago and i have searched everywhere and tried almost everything. I have my computer for over a year hence i may not know if what i did (installed some softwares/changed settings) to have this problem. I did a system restore but for some reason some restore point are not there, im pertaining to the restore point i made they day i bought my computer. I tried restoring using the oldest one which is like a week ago, the problem was fixed for few days only so i did the restore again and made sure i will not install/uninstall any software or changed any settings, but it the same problem occurs.
These are my theories of what i think might be causing the problem
1. I installed and reinstalled the driver but it still didnt work, i assume if i downloaded the wrong driver so i search again looking for a different one but it only leads me to the same link and file.
2. Im not much of an techy person but i assume our network administrator has purposely blocked my computer for some reason (if thats possible), so i used my phone as a hotspot and connect to its wifi but still the same problem.
3. I saw the Network Controller under Device Manager has the yellow caution sign, i tried to update the driver but it says it cant search for the driver.
4. On Change Adapter Settings under Control Panel, it shows there are 3 wifi adapters, one of them is the wifi adapter itself (Intel) and the other 2 are "Virtual Miniport" that are forever has an red x mark. I don't know if that has something to do with my problem, but should they be on red x mark? and what is the purpose of that?
