Intermittent Internet Connection

Hello all,

The router (NETGEAR 24 G) was recently moved (though the network settings left unchanged). It was in it's new place before so the placement isn't an issue, my computer is definitely within range of the router.

No other devices in my house are experiencing internet connectivity issues. All the iPhones, tablets, and the other PC are working fine. However, my computer (Dell XPS 15 - L502X) intermittently disconnects from the internet when in Windows 7. However, the computer remains connected to the network when it says internet is not available. However, I have no issues with the internet on Ubuntu 13.10.

My network adapter is an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1000. I'm running Windows 7. I've updated my driver via Intel's website and the issue still persists. I've also tried turning off and on my network card and unplugging/replugging the router several times. It's obviously a software issue because I do not have the problem in Ubuntu.

Changing the "Wireless Mode" in the network adapter properties via Device Manager from 802.11b/g to 802.11g works temporarily but eventually I lose internet and have to switch back again. This is obviously very annoying.

Does anybody have any suggested solutions?
