Can't connect to internet

Hi,

My computer has recently become incapable of connecting to my home internet. My apartment building is wired, and I have an internet jack in my apartment. The jack in my apartment is connected to a netgear router. The building also has two routers for general use, linksys and netgear. Since I moved into the building in October, every few weeks I would lose my access to the internet. Usually I just reset the router and it was fine.

In the past three weeks, this has not worked. I often go several days at a time being unable to access the internet, whether I am using my own router or the two general ones in the building. Then it will work for a few hours before becoming unusable again. I have also tried plugging my computer directly into the internet jack, but I get the same result. Resetting the router multiple times does not improve the situation. I have been assured by the building manager that the system has had no problems and everyone else in the building can connect. When this problem occurs, my network and sharing system shows that my computer is connected to the router but that the router is not connected to the internet. I have also tried a system restore to a month ago, before this problem arose, but nothing changed.

I have an HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC, running Windows 7 home premium.

Any ideas? All help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
