I purchased an ASUS Dark Knight router having previously used a Belkin N600. As I do not have Fibre enabled in myat the moment, I have to connect my ASUS to the Belkin via a spare Ethernet port. This works fine and everything is routed through the ASUS now. However, I have one problem; I have an IP camera which was connected via the Belkin and port forwarded so that I can use my fixed IP address I got from my ISP, in other words I was able to access the camera from anywhere. Now that I have connected the camera to my ASUS I can only access the camera locally; I got the camera IP address from the ASUS device list and have port forwarded it on the ASUS but I still cannot connect to the camera out with the local network. I am thinking it is maybe being connected to the Belkin and maybe settings are needed to be changed somewhere. The ASUS is set to connection DHCP and the Belkin is connection is set to PPPoE If I change the ASUS to PPPoE it wont connect to the internet, but I guessed that would happen. Just for further information, I am also connected wirelessly to the ASUS and have to disconnect from it and reconnect wirelessly to the Belkin to access the setting on there. Hope I havent lost anyone yet
lol as I say everything works perfectly through the ASUS apart from the fact that when I port forward the camera it does not work out with the local network. Tried turning off DHCP on the Belkin but that didnt work either. Any help appreciated.
