I just had a Comcast tech come over and replace some connectors on some old cables, yet I still am experiencing constant ping spikes. The game runs fine for about 10s then spikes to about 500ms-1000ms ping. This makes all games unplayable. I have even tried upgrading my router and wireless adapter, but to no avail. The weird thing is, I am able to watch 1080p videos on youtube quite fine and even watch streams in the same quality, without discrepancies. I can also download at about 1-2 mb/s. I am stumped as to what is causing this issue. I can also listen to other fine on Skype, even when I disconnect from my online games, however, they can hear me be extremely choppy, due to my internet. What should I do?
Also when I run speedtests, it goes up to 50 mbps (what I pay for) then drops down to around 3-4, back to 50 and then to something like 20. I can see the inconsistencies just through the speed test. I have also noticed that when I check my wireless connections available sometimes, all of the connections disappear (nothing to connect to). I have already updated my wireless adapter drivers, but that doesn't seem to fix it.
