I have a Netgear N300 Wireless Router that is connected to my Motorola 2210-02-1022 Modem. I have AT&T as my IP. I use a Toshiba laptop with Win7 OS. Up until a day ago all was going well, my router signal was getting out to my laptop across the house. Then suddenly I had no internet. I called AT&T, and was told they were doing some line work in the area, which later was revealed to be a change in my IP address as well.
I called iyogi for a proper diagnosis of my router problem and was told I had an IP conflict with the name of my modem and the address of my router. ?
I cannot locate my Netgear Installation CD at this time. Is it possible to go to the Netgear website, download the appropriate installation instructions and start from scratch re-installing my Netgear so that it will communicate with my modem (which has a new IP address)? Does that sound doable for a novice computer user like me? Or is there some other fix you can offer me? I am "bridged" between the modem and router (ATT person showed me how to do this) but still no router signal out to my laptop. PLEASE help.
