i have a network of four computers running windows 7, 3 workstations and one acting as a server for quickbooks pos v 11. they run fine most of the time, but every time i reboot the server machine, the others cannot connect to it. i have to drive over there and reboot again and try to fix the connectivity. all i do is reboot one more time, always works. i wonder if there is something i am missing.
they are on a vlan on a cisco 2950 switch. and the server has a static ip address, it is still correct. the host files of the other machines still allow the connection as does windows firewall. i can get internet from every machine, but cannot ping anything from the server. the other machines can all ping each other, but not the server.
also, the internet comes into the switch from a cable modem to a dlink router. it goes out to a wireless router as well, it is an unsecured wifi for the customers.
this is driving me insane. any ideas? thanx.
