fax connect to router

My computer and new Epson print/fax/copier (WF2540) is located next to my Verizon fios Router (ml42wr). I don't have a phone jack nearby... I was hoping I could connect to the printer to the router. Is that possible? The printer is wireless but I don't think that means anything to using a fax. Is there a way to direct connect or do I have to run a 'phone line' to the fax machine?
