Hello,
This is my first post here, and I was wondering if I could get some help.
I have a Dell Latitude D620 running windows XP. It was working fine, but a few years ago, I reformatted the computer to deal with various issues that I was having. Shortly after doing this, however, the wireless on my computer started having an interesting and annoying issue. Every once in a while, my computer's wireless (I use Intel PROset) will completely stop working. A message will come up, saying "devices with wireless protected setup are within range," as if I was no longer connected to any form of internet. The wireless symbol in the taskbar becomes yellow. When I attempt to reconnect to the internet, the connection will fail.
Upon this happening, there also seems to be a glitch in my sound. Whenever my computer starts having this problem, every 3 seconds or so, there will be a hiccup in the sound of whatever is coming out of my computer, whether it is online or not.
I am able to go into my hardware manager and disable/re-enable my wireless card, and this will fix the problem, but the fix is only temporary, and generally if it happens once, it will happen again very shortly after. It seems that this is a hardware issue of sorts, as further reformatting of the computer does not seem to fix the problem. I am just trying to find a long term fix to the issue, as I can no longer reliably use the internet. Is there anybody here that can help?
Thanks. :)
